Dear Colleagues,

This Doctor’s Day your Professional Staff Executive would like to thank you for your tremendous courage and commitment while caring for patients during the COVID19 pandemic. We feel a real sense of pride for how doctors have united to navigate this crisis. To those in direct contact with COVID19 patients, those providing remote virtual care and others putting systems and policies in place to keep us safe, we thank you for leading with your expertise.  We recognize the stress you are under, and the incredible focus required to deliver exemplary care during this challenging time.

This pandemic will force an evolution in how healthcare is delivered.  We will continue to be challenged to adapt to new norms.  Practice modifications, financial pressures, uncertainty of the future, our safety and the safety of our patients are to name a few.  Now more than ever, it is important for us to be involved and engaged to shape our future. We must step up and provide our clinical perspective and expertise to ensure success in the new way of delivering patient care.

As we make our way through this pandemic and beyond, it is important that we look for ways to work together and support each other.  We are our own best advocates. We are better together, and our voice is stronger together in shaping the best patient care.  We must take care of ourselves and our colleagues.

We take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate you, our physician colleagues, for your outstanding contributions in improving the well-being of our patients’ year-round.  Thank you for your sacrifices, your leadership and your advocacy to positively impact the lives of those under your care. Your role as a physician is vital.

Best Regards,

Rohit Kumar, MD FRCP(C)
